Compare the real cost of switching GLP-1 pharmacy

Compare the real cost of switching pharmacy: match medicine and quantity, add consultation, delivery and membership fees, then check the repeat price.

THE SHORT ANSWER

To compare the real cost of switching pharmacy, match the same medicine, form, prescribed strength and quantity in each quote. Add every required charge, such as delivery and any compulsory membership. Then check the repeat price. A lower first-order price helps only if the service and clinical care also suit you.

Match the medicine, strength and quantity in each quote

Write down the medicine, its form (such as pen or tablet), the strength and the quantity in each quote. A price per pen, per box, per calendar month and per four-week pack are not the same thing. If the quantity is unclear, ask how many days of your prescribed treatment the pack covers.

Never raise a dose or pick a different medicine to get a lower unit price. Your prescriber makes treatment decisions. Compare the money side only once those are made.

Add up the full checkout total

  • The medicine charge for the quoted pack.
  • Any consultation or prescription fee, if charged separately.
  • Delivery for your postcode and chosen delivery method.
  • Any compulsory membership, support package or consumables.
  • Any discount which applies to you under the current terms.

Use the cost worksheet to add a quote and turn the price into a 28-day figure. The worksheet uses only the numbers you enter. The worksheet does not check a pharmacy’s price. Keep a screenshot of the original quote and note the date you saw the quote.

Check the price of your second and later orders

A first-order offer may expire, cover only certain strengths or need a code. Compare the normal repeat price as well as the offer. Ask whether a change of strength changes the price and whether a subscription renews on its own. Note the cancellation deadlines too.

ExampleFour-week packExtra chargeTotal
Quote A£150£5 delivery£155
Quote B£145£15 compulsory membership£160

Quote B has the lower medicine price and still costs £5 more. Both examples are invented to show the sums. Neither is a pharmacy quote.

Most first-order offers apply once. You are a new customer at every pharmacy you have not used. If you switch pharmacy every month, compare first-order totals at pharmacies you have not used, worked out the same way.

Compare the service behind the price

Ask how you contact the clinical team and who deals with a treatment problem. Ask how the pharmacy handles delivery problems and whether it takes patients on maintenance doses. Keep those answers apart from the price. A low price says nothing about whether the treatment suits you.

Monj runs an outside comparison service with links to how it works out prices. Use an outside table as a first check. Then confirm the pharmacy’s current checkout and terms. Pharmacy Hopper has no live price feed and does not certify the cheapest pharmacy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compare GLP-1 pharmacy prices fairly?

Compare the same medicine, form, prescribed strength and quantity in every GLP-1 quote. A price per pen, per box, per calendar month and per four-week pack are not the same. Ask how many days the quoted pack covers.

Which fees should I add to a pharmacy quote?

Add the medicine charge, any separate consultation or prescription fee, delivery for your postcode and method, and any compulsory membership, support package or consumables. Then take off only the discounts which apply to you under the current terms.

Is a first-order discount the price I will keep paying?

Not always. A first-order offer may expire, cover only certain strengths or need a code. Compare the normal repeat price, ask whether a change of strength changes the price and check whether the subscription renews on its own.

Does Pharmacy Hopper show live pharmacy prices?

No. Pharmacy Hopper has no live price feed and does not certify the cheapest pharmacy. The cost worksheet uses only the numbers you enter, so confirm each pharmacy’s current checkout and terms yourself.
